Welcome to the Timonium United Methodist Nursery Schools website!  The Timonium Nursery School has been a part of the Timonium community for over 50 years.  We provide a half day preschool program for two, three, and four-year-olds.

History

    In 1956, responding to a need in the community, the Timonium United Methodist Church opened the Timonium Daily Kindergarten. The school was open to pre-school age children of all denominations.  It operated from 9 to 12, Monday through Friday.   
 
    When the public schools began their kindergarten program in 1970, the kindergarten classes were discontinued. The church decided to change to a nursery school for four-year-olds. In 1972, when a new education wing was built, the architectural plans contained special accommodations for small children.
 
    Since then, the school has continued to expand to include four classes of four-year-olds, four classes of three-year-olds, and six classes of two-year-olds. An extended day program called “Lunch Bunch” was also added so that children could stay until three o’clock. The school continues to change and grow to meet the needs of the community.
